//FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you charge any fees upfront?

    No. We only get paid if your disability rating increases. There are no upfront costs to work with us.

  • Do you take a percentage of my VA disability award?

    Never. We charge a flat fee that’s clearly outlined before you sign on—no surprises and no percentage-based fees.

  • Can I use IronClad Medical if I’m just starting my VA disability claim?

    Our services are specifically designed for veterans who are already in the appeal phase of their VA disability claim.

  • Do I need an attorney to work with IronClad Medical Evaluations?

    Yes. To use our services, you must be represented by an attorney. While we focus solely on providing high-quality medical evaluations and evidence, your attorney ensures your claim is filed properly and on time. This partnership helps give your case the strongest possible chance for success. If you don’t currently have an attorney, we can help connect you with trusted NOVA-accredited attorneys who understand the VA system and are committed to helping you win your case.

  • Will you file my VA disability claim for me?

    No. We are a team of medical professionals, not attorneys. While we don’t file claims, we do list several of our preferred, NOVA-approved partners on our Attorneys page.

  • Can I get a DBQ or Nexus letter without a full in-person exam?

    No. We believe in providing strong, credible medical evidence—never boilerplate documentation. That’s why we require a full, in-person evaluation before completing any DBQ or Nexus letter.
